The scent is the point

Warm a bead between your fingers and the herbs come back.

How to bring the scent back

• Warm it in your hand. Roll a bead between your palms for a few seconds — body heat wakes the herbs
• Or rest it in its pouch. Seal it back in the pouch overnight and the scent gathers again
• Keep scent killers off it. Perfume, hand cream and oils coat the beads and dull the herbs

Each blend is matched to one mural figure — the colour of the robe, the flower she holds.

One person, start to finish

Ma Roubing rolls, dries and polishes every bead herself, in her workshop in China. Every batch is mixed by hand — her hands, not a machine's.

Wear it with everything

On its own. Stacked with silver. Under a knit sleeve in winter.

A third-party lab tested these beads for lead, cadmium, mercury, arsenic and more. Result: none detected.

Keeping the scent

• Keep it dry. Take it off before showering, swimming or washing hands
• No perfume or oils on top. They coat the bead and block the herbs
• Store it in the pouch when you're not wearing it — away from direct sun
• Scent fading? Warm a bead in your palm, or follow the revival steps above
